I came home and my house was so full of love letters from my suitors that I could barely open the door.

However, I will not reply to them. It is untoward and unladylike and there are far too many references to undergarments.

I just thought you should all know that from now on, I will be wearing a corset. And a girdle. And a bunch of other fancy undergarments, just like Professor Gulch. She's pretty ace.

Okay, that's all.

Good lord, why is everyone so droll? Everybody is acting like we're in the worst situation imaginable, thought I can't tell why. Personally, I find the digging invigorating and I am not afraid of the Austrians a stitch. They're all men, so seducing them during battle will be easy enough.

I don't understand. I thought that these things operated around geography. If I can read entries from home, does that mean that when we all go marching off to war, we'll be able to use them then, too? And if so, I should think that this entire business is far less dreary. We all could have cut down on the hysterical farewells immensely had someone does us the courtesy of informing us. I will likely have headaches for weeks as a result.

Do they let us bring smelling salts to war?

Would you like me to braid your hair? Or rub your back? I can read you a story, dramatically.

This is like the worst murder mystery party ever thrown. Obviously the professors won't or aren't able to figure out which of us is a sycophantic, vainglorious psychopath. Maybe we ought to revolt.

On the bright side, we can now rule out that ridiculous pattern theory.

I am quite cross with you, pet, but I have decided to extend this olive branch in order that we might become friends again before one of us perishes. It is likely that whatever mysterious villain is attacking students will slowly pick us off, one by one. As I am both young and beautiful -- and you are too, though it's tempered by your nagging -- we will likely fall victim shortly. However, as I am much more destined for romantical happenings, I suppose we can suspect with some degree of confidence that I shall go first. That is how it often happens in the best novels.

So, if I should die, I would like you to promise you will take care of Garbo and write to my men weekly. There are seven of them -- one for each day of the week -- and you ought to read a few novels in order to become acquainted with my style and manner. Please promise that you will have my memoirs published (I currently have nineteen volumes stored under my bed) and that you will visit my grave monthly, at the very least, to have a good weep.

Oh, and I don't really think Tiberius asked Fagan for a Butterbeer.

Very well, I feel prepared now to die without regrets. I have lived well and felt the truest of loves. Anyway, all the best stars meet a tragic end -- it will likely serve as the catalyst for my status as legend.

I don't know why everyone is having such a to do over Elvira's social calendar. Why, I'm sure I've kissed a good dozen more fellows and it has never been such an issue.

Professor Viridian, sir, I was wondering if it's true that Dedalus Diggle was caught sneaking out of the library with books from the Restricted Section. It's only he told me he was trying to get out them out without permission, sir, and I need confirmation.
